12 Students from Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics joined the 2019 Research Advocacy for Community Empowerment (RACE) held at Bauan Technical School, Bauan, Batangas last February 28.
The capstone research of the students got 2nd and 3rd places in the preliminary selection. Dr. Apolonio A. Villanueva, the research adviser said, "Even the researches were not selected for the finals, we are still happy and proud to present the outputs and made it to the oral presentation".
The presented outputs are: (1) "Portable Solar Power Generator" by John Michael Mendoza, Joker R. Montecer and Kimberly Ann A. Manongsong (STEM 122). (2) "Solaris Umbra" by John Mark L. Holgado, Emilou Fayne A. Antiporda and Catherine Mariz J. Haplit (STEM 122) . (3) "Automatic Solar Powered Lights" by Jayson G. Aranilla, Jayvee M. Linga and Erica O. Vanguardia. (STEM 121). (4) EACON: Eco Air Conditioner by Rohan Mil M. Remetre, Mavrick Floyd V. Simagcas and Catherine P. Olan (STEM 121).
RACE is an initiative of Ascendens Asia Group. The event is managed by BRYCE Inspired Careers (BIC) and supported by the Philippine Association of Research Managers (PhilARM) and the association of Administrators in Hospitality and Restaurant Management Educational Institutions (AAHRMEI). It will showcase the research outputs of budding and expert researchers at a Research Poster Presentation Competition among the top 10 research papers from each public or private high school within the jurisdiction of a specific School's Division. http://aagrace.com/
