To equip Malvareños with basic knowledge on being prepared and assisting other people in emergency cases, volunteers from Rotary Club of Malvar and Tanauan Medical Society conducted a life support training program from 7:30 am to 12 nn at Malvar Cultural Center, Nov. 23.
Through the initiative of Mr. Dennis Castillo, the designated school nurse, and with the assistance of 3 faculty members from Senior High School in Malvar which included Mrs. Raechelle Joyce Siudad, Mrs. Golda Taberna and Mrs. Ma. Diana Sales, 106 students attended the program to learn the technical know-how about basic life support. One of the activities was checking and caring for heart attack victims. During the program, volunteers demonstrated to the participants the proper steps in doing the cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) using a dummy.
